When we examine those fiber bundles, are they achiral linear and woven or explicitly helical chiral? If you want strength in polyfilament thread it must be spun. Pulling then contracts the helices as their pitch increases, and everything in tension grabs tightly.
One is helical chiral (twisted thinking) and the other is linear (straight thinking). One is thick, one is thin. You can play with variations of those ideas for all possible combinations and double meanings that you can imagine .
