And the winner is…

February 7, 2009 by dberenstein

Some of you might remember a certain Limerick contest a while back.It seems to me that the scientific poetic vein was having a bit of plaque buildup. (If you don’t get the silly medical joke, don’t ask for it to be explained). So the entries were ok, but nothing made me bend over in laughter and surrender to the wit of the readers/commenters. However, a winner must be declared, because it was a contest after all.

At this very moment I am fumbling with the envelope that contains the winner’s name. I’m opening it and peeking at it. And the winner is…

Lionel!

Here is the winning Limerick:

There once was a blog named for Dirac,
Whose author had begun to crack,
His strain too great,
For he was oft too late,
And his posts drew plenty of flack!

I picked this one because it makes fun at my expense, which I rather like when one is trying to have some entertainment. This was followed very closely by Clifford, who didn’t win, only because he stole my ideas and  his poem wasn’t original enough :) .

Now I have the dubious distinction of having made the most fun at your expense =)

Hey, I thought he was making fun of me! (moreover, predicting the then future, which is now present).

Congratulations Lionel, you made me proud. Just a small correction, you now have the distinction of having made the most fun at the expense of David only here, on this blog.
